Hi Laurent,

This morning I studied Wikimini mory carefully and I must say that your wiki looks impressive. Especially the look and feel and the extra functionalities of the mediawiki-software (you are using mediasoftware, am I right?). Is this available for everybody? 

WikiKids is the Dutch encyclopedia for and by children. So in that way WikiKids is similar to Wikimini. WikiKids started in 2006. I came up with the idea to start a wikipedia for children because the information on wikipedia was to difficult. Soon a projectgroup formed around this idea. The projectgroup consisted of Dutch teachers in primary education (I work at a teacher training institute for primary education).

On WikiKids children aged 8-13 can write articles. But there are also children who already go to secundairy education that can write an article. Those children can also become a moderator at WikiKids. In fact anyone who want to write a article for children aged 8-13 can contribute.

In the Netherlands there are also two wiki's for children, I must say. I hope we will work together in the future. I´ve already contacted them to discuss the posiblities.

WikiKids works together with the national organisation Kennisnet ([http://corporate.kennisnet.nl/international http://corporate.kennisnet.nl/international]). They support us with hosting, advice and publicity. At Kennisnet we work together wit Jan-Bart de Vreede ([http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Board_of_Trustees#Jan-Bart_de_Vreede http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Board_of_Trustees#Jan-Bart_de_Vreede])  and Marjon Bakker (former boardmember of Wikimedia Netherlands).

My name is Gerard Dümmer and initiator of the Dutch WikiKids: [http://www.wikikids www.wikikids]. I saw your wiki for children. My compliments for the lay-out of this wiki.

I also have a question. There is already a wiki in France for children: [http://fr.vikidia.org/index.php/Accueil http://fr.vikidia.org/index.php/Accueil]. I was wondering why you started a new wiki instead of working together. Hopefully you can explain it to me.
